Payment, Cancellation, and Expiry

Payment:

Currently, LinkProbe packages can only be paid for using PayPal.

Cancellation, Expiry:

There is no automatic renewal!
The package you purchase on LinkProbe will automatically end after the specified duration, and your account will be automatically deleted afterwards.

Extension or Modification of a Purchased Package

It is not possible to extend or modify the scope of services (number of links, check interval) afterwards.
However, if you need more links, you can of course book additional packages (even using the same email address).

Uploading Documents

File Format:

Currently, only PDF files with clickable links can be processed.
With many word processing programs, creating such files is easy using the "Export as PDF" function.
After uploading the PDF file, you will immediately receive a list of the recognized links for review.

Storage of Documents / Confidential Documents:

All uploaded documents are immediately deleted after processing.
For confidential documents, you can delete all content except the links before uploading.

Maximum Number of Documents:

The maximum number of documents is 10x the maximum number of links booked.

File Size:

The maximum file size per document is 50 MB.

Timing of Link Checks

Test Package and Single-Shot

On your personal webpage, you set the date for the check:
- The earliest check date can be set for the next day.
- The latest possible check date is 1 day before the account expires.
The check starts about at midnight on the selected check date.
Depending on server load, the check may take some time but is usually completed by 8:00 on the check date (technical failures excepted).

Regular Checks

The first check of the links in a new document occurs within a maximum of 2 hours after uploading.
The check interval begins at the time of upload,
so you set the start of the interval yourself by uploading a new document.

Asynchronous Checks

The link check starts immediately after uploading, and the current status can be viewed anytime on the website.
However, the exact timing of the check depends on server load.
While it may take some time to check all 2500 links, each link is guaranteed to be checked once within 14 days.

Reliability of LinkProbe Results

For each link, the exact check date and its status "ONLINE," "OFFLINE," or "UNKNOWN" are displayed.
Links marked as ONLINE are 100% reachable.
Nearly 100% of the links marked as OFFLINE were actually unreachable at the time of the check.
If LinkProbe could not determine the status (e.g., due to bot protection or technical issues on the targeted website), "UNKNOWN" is displayed (up to 0.5% of links).

Overall reliability is > 99.5%!

LinkProbe only checks the accessibility of your websites. It does NOT check whether the website content has changed!

Emails from LinkProbe

For All Packages:

On your LinkProbe webpage, you can send yourself an info-email at any time.
You can also view the status of your links anytime until the account expires on your LinkProbe webpage. Therefore, you will receive a reminder-email three days before the account expires.

Test Package and Single-Shot

You will receive an info-email immediately after the links have been checked.

Regular Checks

You will receive an email after the first check of newly uploaded documents.
For subsequent checks, you will receive an email if the accessibility of a link has changed.
Optionally, you can be informed via email about the current status of all links after each check.

Asynchronous Checks

You will receive an info-email at the end of each checkinterval.
